Tuttosport: January mercato will only ‘take off’ for Milan after Supercoppa finale

It seems the January mercato could be an active one for AC Milan, but the wheels will only start turning after the Supercoppa Italiana has been wrapped up.

The past few weeks have been rather hectic for Milan, and with a new head coach, the mercato could take a different route, in more ways than one. For example, Fikayo Tomori, who seemed firmly on his way out before the arrival of Sergio Conceicao, may not leave now, with the Portuguese wanting to assess him.

Incomings could also be affected, if systems differentiate, however, how much things shift will only be seen in time.

As Tuttosport (via Milan News) has reported though, the mercato will only begin to ‘take off’ after the finale of the Supercoppa on Monday. Presumably, a big reason for this is that it gives Conceicao a chance to see his team and wider squad in action, which allows an opportunity for assessments.

The main reason, according to the report, is that the schedule is busy, so focuses are being directed elsewhere. Nevertheless, the management are still keeping an eye on things, assessing what opportunities are possible.

It seems the hottest links now are the ones to Dani Olmo and Warren Bondo, with Randal Kolo Muani also being listed in the report as a possibility.
