James Ward-Prowse has said that things will improve under Graham Potter at West Ham.

Our Hammers fell to defeat at the weekend in what was a disappointing display, especially in the first half, against Brentford at the London Stadium.

Ward-Prowse made his return to action since coming back from his loan at Nottingham Forest, whilst admitting the display was well below par.

“The first half didn’t really get going from our point of view, and we needed to have a reaction,” the midfielder told the clubs Official Website. “When we went back out, I think we were a bit more in control of the game.

“Brentford had something to hold on to and we gave it a go, but based on the standards this Club’s set in recent years it wasn’t good enough.”

Ward-Prowse is delighted to be back and now working under Graham Potter, with the set-piece specialist saying that things will improve soon under his leadership.

“It’s been great being back in the building, and working under the new manager,” Ward-Prowse added.

“I’ve really enjoyed the messages he’s been trying to get across and it’s up to us to try to implement that as best we can, and try to keep building on what we’ve done so far.

“I firmly believe that, having seen the work we’ve done in the last week, that things will turn around.”
