Arsenal have agreed a fee for Brentford captain Christian Norgaard in a surprising move after contract talks with Thomas Partey have stalled. The Gunners hope to be active in this transfer window with the club also agreeing to pay above the release fee for Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Arteta wanting to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko a priority - though talks have stalled somewhat.

Manchester United, meanwhile, have secured Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m and are negotiating with Brentford about Bryan Mbeumo, having submitted an improved offer.

Florian Wirtz is now officially a Liverpool player after agreeing a record £116.5m deal for the German superstar and completing the medical last Friday, while Reds defender Jarell Quansah is set to go the other way in a £35m deal to join Bayern Leverkusen. Liverpool, who have already brought in Jeremie Frimpong, now turn attention to Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, who looks set to complete his deal this week.

Lewis-Skelly on Arsenal extension

After signing his new five-year deal with Arsenal, Myles Lewis-Skelly told Arsenal.com: "I'm so proud and happy. I know those words are simple, but I think they sum up how I feel signing for this club. I'm a fan and it's like a dream come true.

"I've embodied the values of Hale End and come through. I've still got a lot of years ahead of me, so if I can keep staying humble and being a good person, that's the most important thing to me.

"I know I've taken a lot of experience from the games about the positive moments, the mistakes that I've made. I'm definitely more ready now for the next season. I just want to keep learning and keep improving.

"I want a legacy. I want to win everything there is to win in the game. I want to win trophies on the biggest stages whilst being a person that's always learning and stays grounded, which is so important."

"I just want to thank everyone for really showing me big love, even before it will be announced now.

"And keep supporting the team like you support always, because you're the biggest fan base in the world.

Borussia Dortmund exploring deal for Chelsea starlet Josh Acheampong

Borussia Dortmund are exploring a deal for Chelsea's Joshua Acheampong, among a number of clubs monitoring his situation.

The 19-year-old has been seen by the Stamford Bridge hierarchy as a prospect for the future, but the defender is known to want more first-team opportunities in order to progress.

There is now a belief among suitor clubs that Chelsea may be willing to do business for £35m, having previously rejected approaches - including loans.

Noni Madueke emerges as surprise Arsenal target

Among those under consideration by Arsenal is Chelsea’s Noni Madueke, a forward of a different ilk to Sesko but clearly talented. The arrival of Brazilian revelation Estevao from Palmeiras is set to create further competition for places in Enzo Maresca's frontline, perhaps leaving the England international available.

Chelsea nevertheless want £50m for Madueke, which is not a price Arsenal want to go to right now. There is a possibility a deal may be revived later in the summer.
