Arsenal are looking to kick the summer window into high gear as they plot a potential big-money move for Bruno Guimaraes at Newcastle. The Gunners could also rival Tottenham for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, with Pedro Neto and Martin Zubimendi back on their radar amid links to a raft of possible new strikers including Victor Osimhen, Joshua Zirkzee and Santiago Gimenez.

Chelsea are still leading the race for Michael Olise despite Crystal Palace’s latest contract offer, while they may also increase their bid for Samu Omorodion and move for Aaron Anselmino amid more talks over Jhon Duran as Ian Maatsen prepares to join Aston Villa. Manchester United have West Ham’s Edson Alvarez in their transfer sights, while they could hijack the Duran deal as they try to agree the signings of Zirkzee and Jarrad Branthwaite having also opened negotiations over Jonathan David.

A Tottenham move for Weston McKennie has been ruled out, with rumours building over a swoop for Ivan Toney as they battle Liverpool for ‘new Sergio Ramos’ Riccardo Calafiori. West Ham are focusing on Max Kilman and could renew their interest in Youssef En-Nesyri after signing Wes Foderingham, while Lazio, Juventus and Napoli are all said to be competing to sign Mason Greenwood. He says there has been no offer yet, but a close eye is being kept on developments around the 19-year-old.

Man United handed fresh boost in Joshua Zirkzee move

Manchester United look to have received a timely boost in their pursuit of Joshua Zirkzee.

The Dutch international forward, a late injury call-up to the Netherlands squad for Euro 2024, is known to be high on the list of potential attacking reinforcements this summer at Old Trafford.

However, United have faced plenty of rival interest in Zirkzee, including from the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and AC Milan.

But according to reports in Italy cited by Football Transfers, AC Milan are no longer considered as the front runners for Zirkzee and could now move for free agent Memphis Depay instead.

Michael Olise not offered new Crystal Palace contract... yet

Yet another twist now it seems in the Michael Olise transfer saga.

Last night it was reported that Crystal Palace had once again offered their star winger an improved new contract with a bigger release clause for the summer of 2025 amid interest from a whole host of clubs, namely Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Newcastle.

However, Edmund Brack of the South London Press now reports that no such offer has yet been made.

He says it doesn’t mean that it won’t be, but insists there are no fresh terms on the table as things stand.

West Ham to make official bid for Jayden Oosterwolde

West Ham could move for Jayden Oosterwolde next after apparently wrapping up a deal for Wes Foderingham.

Reports this morning claim that the former Rangers and Sheffield United goalkeeper will follow Luis Guilherme as the second signing of the new Julen Lopetegui era in east London, having agreed a two-year contract to sign on a free transfer.

Now West Ham have made contact over a potential move for versatile Dutch defender Oosterwolde at Fenerbahce, according to reports in Turkey.

An official offer from the Hammers could reportedly be forthcoming as soon as next week, with the Turkish giants said to be holding out for a fee of £17m.

Leicester appoint Steve Cooper as Enzo Maresca replacement

Leicester have officially confirmed the appointment of Steve Cooper as their new manager this morning.

The former Swansea and Nottingham Forest boss has penned a three-year contract at the King Power Stadium to succeed Enzo Maresca, who left the Championship title winners earlier this month after only one season in order to replace Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea.

“I am really excited and proud to be appointed Leicester City’s First Team Manager,” ex-England youth coach Cooper - out of work since being sacked by Forest in December - said.

“This is a fantastic Club with a rich history and passionate supporters. I am excited to work with such a talented squad and I’m looking forward to the challenge of achieving our shared ambitions in the Premier League.”

Ratcliffe slams Uefa as Man United blocked from Todibo deal

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has publicly confirmed that Manchester United cannot sign Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo this summer.

The French centre-back was initially said to be on a list of potential summer transfer targets at Old Trafford, until reports emerged yesterday claiming that Uefa rules on deals between clubs with shared ownership competing in the same European competition next season meant that such a transfer was actually not possible as things stand.

“They’ve said we can sell him to another Premiership club, but we can’t sell to Manchester United,” United part-owner Ratcliffe - who bought French club Nice in 2019 - has now said on Todibo in an interview with Bloomberg.

“But that’s not fair on the player and I don’t see what that achieves.”

West Ham seal Wes Foderingham signing on free transfer

Another new arrival has been secured by West Ham.

Last week the Hammers swooped to make Brazil Under-20 winger Luis Guilherme the first new signing of the Julen Lopetegui era in a deal with Palmeiras worth £25.5m.

West Ham have also been heavily linked with the likes of Wolves captain Max Kilman and Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri, though it is Wes Foderingham who will be next through the door.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the former Rangers and Sheffield United goalkeeper has penned a two-year contract at the London Stadium and will join on a free transfer.

Man United make contact over Jonathan David deal

Manchester United reportedly have their sights set on Jonathan David as an alternative to Joshua Zirkzee.

The Red Devils are trying to steal a march on the likes of Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool in the race for Bologna’s highly-rated Dutch international Zirkzee.

But David is also now in the frame, with The I reporting that initial talks have been held with the player’s camp.

However, Tottenham, West Ham and Aston Villa are also said to be keen on the Canadian forward, whom Lille president Olivier Letang has already said will be allowed to depart the Stade Pierre-Mauroy this summer along with fellow United transfer target Leny Yoro.

Both players have entered the final years of their respective contracts in France.
