Having joined Real Madrid from Flamengo in the summer of 2018 for €45 million, Vinicius has enjoyed a dream career with the Merengues. Under contract until June 2027, Vinicius Junior was open to extending his stay with the Casa Blanca, but negotiations have hit a snag.

After several months of talks, negotiations have stalled. The sticking point: Vinicius Junior's demand for a salary on par with the club's other superstar, Kylian Mbappé. Currently earning €15 million net per year with the Spanish giants, Vinicius is reportedly set to make €8 million less annually than his French teammate.

Hoping to secure pay parity, Vinicius Junior has run up against Real Madrid's firm stance, with the club unwilling to meet his demands. The Spanish giants are also reportedly taken aback by the Brazilian's approach, especially after a few challenging months for the player. According to Mundo Deportivo, this deadlock has forced Real Madrid to reconsider their position. Now, Florentino Perez has decided to let the Brazilian go.

Although Vinicius has a €1 billion release clause that seems impossible to activate, Real Madrid is now open to selling if a significant offer comes in from another club.
