First jersey, first idol, best atmosphere... We had a quick sit-down with Toulouse captain and Swiss international, Vincent Sierro

Do you remember your first jersey?

It was a Grasshopper Zurich jersey. I didn't particularly support the club, but my parents gave it to me. The club had just become champions, and it had Richard Núñez’s name on it.

Who was your childhood idol?

Zinédine Zidane! I’ve also always liked Cristiano Ronaldo’s mentality. Later, I started watching players who play in my position: Luka Modrić, Toni Kroos, Andrés Iniesta... Great references!

What was your first match at the stadium?

It was a match of FC Sion, the club from the city where I grew up. From a very young age, my grandfather often took me to see the matches.

Who is the most impressive player you’ve faced?

I’d say Lionel Messi. He is simply way too strong!

What is your favorite move on the field?

The step-over! It’s a rare move for my position, but when you do it well, it’s cool, it’s effective.

What is the best atmosphere you’ve experienced?

It was during the Coupe de France final last season against FC Nantes. We won 5-1, and the atmosphere was truly incredible.

What is the most difficult move to execute, in your opinion?

Zinédine Zidane’s volley against Bayer Leverkusen. Pulling off that move with his weaker foot and on a looping ball is magnificent...

Who is the craziest player in the Toulouse FC locker room?

Kévin Keben! He is completely crazy.

Which players impressed you this season in Ligue 1 Uber Eats?

Now, everyone knows him because he’s blown up, but I found Bradley Barcola very strong from the beginning of the season. I also really liked Edon Zhegrova, whom I already knew from FC Basel. He was very strong this season.

Who is your favorite teammate?

This is a tough question (laughs). I get along well with a lot of players; I have many affinities with the team, which is why things are going so well for me.

What is your best memory of the season?

It’s the victory against Liverpool in the Europa League (3-2). It was magnificent. The atmosphere at the Stadium was incredible, and it was an important match for us in the group stage.
