Tottenham forward Dominic Solanke couldn’t be happier with his recent call-up to the England squad, especially with the buzz surrounding Thomas Tuchel’s impending role as the national team’s new manager.

Solanke, who fought hard to earn his place back in the England squad, shared his thoughts on the exciting changes within the team as he prepares for the Nations League clashes against Greece and the Republic of Ireland.

In an interview earlier this week, Solanke was asked about his future with the England squad and how he feels about Tuchel stepping in as head coach.

"Since the last camp, we had the news that the new manager will be taking over. I’m not sure he’s going to be there since he’s starting next year,” Solanke admitted.

“That’s something to look forward to for the country. On a personal note, I’d love to be there again. I worked hard to get back there so it’s definitely an aim of mine to stay there.”

The young forward's determination has paid off, as interim head coach Lee Carsley has once again included him in the squad for the upcoming matches.

Carsley, who is overseeing the team until Tuchel officially starts his role on January 1, 2025, confirmed that he did not consult with Tuchel on player selections. This continuity has allowed emerging talents like Solanke more opportunities to make their mark.

Solanke, who made his second international appearance last month in a narrow 2-1 loss to Greece, is eager to build on his experience and add more caps under his belt.

His hard work at Tottenham has evidently been noticed, positioning him as a reliable option in attack, possibly as a future understudy to Harry Kane.

As for Tuchel, the former Chelsea manager is known for his high-energy playing style, demanding that his players show intensity both in and out of possession.

Many speculate that Solanke’s adaptability and work ethic could be a good match for Tuchel's vision, potentially making him a valuable part of the squad moving forward.

For Solanke, the announcement of Tuchel’s appointment could be a promising opportunity. The forward knows that if he continues performing well and remains consistent, he might catch Tuchel’s eye as a dependable option within the squad.

“It’s just about keeping that momentum and proving myself," he added. With Tuchel’s influence around the corner and the Nations League matches on the horizon, Solanke’s motivation is clear.
