Ange Postecoglou returns to Glasgow this evening as Tottenham take on Rangers in the Europa League.
The former Celtic manager is under pressure after a difficult start to the season at Spurs, who surrendered a two-goal lead to lose to Chelsea at the weekend. Spurs have just one win in their last seven games across all competitions as Postecoglou navigates a tough period without key personnel.
Currently 11th in the Premier League and seven points adrift of the top four, success in the Europa League could offer an alternative route to Champions League qualification. Spurs are ninth in the standings after five games, behind tonight’s opponents on goal difference.
Rangers have started strongly in Europe despite a challenging campaign in the Scottish Premiership.
Disaster struck for Ange Postecoglou at the weekend as Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven were forced off against Chelsea. The defensive duo were making their returns from injury but are now facing further spells on the sidelines. With Ben Davies also out, Postecoglou has only Radu Dragusin available as a recognised centre-back.
Brennan Johnson is unlikeloy to feature due to illness, while Richarlison, Wilson Odobert and Mikey Moore all remain out. Will Lankshear is back from a one-gam European ban and Rodrigo Bentancur is available. His domestic ban does not cover European games.
Spurs predicted XI: Forster; Porro, Dragusin, Gray, Udogie; Bentancur, Bissouma, Maddison; Kulusevski, Solanke, Werner.
Rangers host Tottenham in the Europa League on Thursday 12th December 2024. Kick-off at Ibrox is 20:00 GMT.
Rangers vs Tottenham will be shown on TNT Sports 1, TNT Sports Ultimate and Discovery+.
