Spurs consider fresh midfielder approach after initial £20m offer plus Giovani Lo Celso was rebuffed by Aston Villa
Tottenham are weighing up an improved bid for Aston Villa's Jacob Ramsey after having an offer of £20million plus Giovani Lo Celso rejected.
Spurs want to add a box-to-box midfielder to their squad this summer and are under pressure to sign homegrown players to comply with UEFA regulations in the Europa League next season.
Ramsey, 23, is a former England Under-21 international and known to Spurs' technical director Johan Lange, who joined from Villa in October.
Lo Celso has a year remaining on his contract and played under Villa boss Unai Emery at Villarreal in 2022-23.

Villa may be under pressure to sell players ahead of June 30 to comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules but are thought to value Ramsey at between £40m and £50m.
Spurs are also in the market for a centre-forward this summer, with Lille’s Jonathan David among the players of interest.
Ange Postecoglou, the Spurs head coach, has called for major changes and Lo Celso is one of a number of players free to move on.
Spurs would listen to offers for Richarlison, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Emerson Royal and Bryan Gil, while returning loanees Djed Spence, Sergio Reguilon and Joe Rodon are not part of Postecoglou’s plans.
