Torino’s Samuele Ricci is the top target for Inter Milan as they aim to make a big investment in midfield this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Correire dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that city rivals AC Milan would be Inter’s biggest competition to sign Ricci.

Inter Milan will have a major windfall from the Champions League this season.

That will allow the Nerazzurri to invest a fairly large sum into the transfer market this summer.

There are a number of areas where Inter are targeting signings.

From the defense to the attack, and in wide areas, Inter want to refresh the squad. The average age of the current core of players is hardly sustainable.

And Inter are also looking to rejuvenate their midfield.

Petar Sucic will be arriving from Dinamo Zagreb, firstly. Inter have already completed a deal to sign the Croat at the end of the current season.

However, there could well be another major midfield signing. Particularly in the event that both Kristjan Asllani and Davide Frattesi are to leave.

And according to the Corriere, Inter’s dream signing would be Torino midfield Samuele Ricci.

Ricci will not come cheap. However, the Nerazzurri will have the cash on hand to sign the Italian international.

Inter would not be without competition for Ricci’s signature, however. The Corriere name AC Milan as their main rivals in the matter.
