Enzo Maresca will assess Andrey Santos at the Club World Cup, but it’s not fully confirmed where he’ll be playing next season according to reports.
The Blues are gearing up for another busy summer, and could sell as many as seven or eight players in order to fund their moves in the market.
Chelsea face a critical window with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker to strengthen Maresca’s squad.
Chelsea already have Dario Essugo arriving from Sporting Lisbon this summer having agreed a deal worth £18.5m last month.
Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez will also link up with their new team-mates, whilst Santos will return from an excellent loan at Strasbourg.
Santos has been in superb form for Strasbourg this season.
Mail Sport have reported Maresca will assess the 20-year-old in person at this summer’s Club World Cup, but a final decision has not been taken on where he will play next season.
It had previously been reported a decision would taken at the end of the campaign once it’s established what European competition both clubs will be in.
Santos has scored ten goals this season and has arguably been Strasbourg’s stand out performer, with Liam Rosenior describing him as an exceptional player.
The Brazilian is expected to play a key role in the squad next season and recently revealed one of his idol’s is Newcastle’s Bruno Guimarães.
Santos’ performances haven’t gone unnoticed and he’s said to be attracting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs including Bayern Munich.

Given Romeo Lavia’s injury issues, Santos would likely have played a significant amount of minutes this season, and the Blues need him in the squad next season as an option as they sadly can’t rely on Lavia to stay fit.
