AC Milan are on the hunt for a sporting director, and the process is taking a bit too long for some, leading Andrea Longoni to speak about the situation this morning.
The mercato activities in recent years have left the majority of Milan fans feeling overly frustrated. The Rossoneri have often wasted money on poor talents, whilst failing to land their big targets, often seeing them go to other clubs.
So this summer, a new route is being taken, and it starts with a new sporting director, who will arrive to oversee the new project. However, there has not been much progress made towards appointing the arriving senior figure.
Fabio Paratici was the expected incoming, but later changes ruled out that move. So, the Diavolo are back on the prowl, and Longoni has looked at the situation as it currently is, and he has highlighted one candidate for Milan News.
“Furlani should tighten the circle and come to a final decision very quickly, too much has already been lost. The easiest one is called Igli Tare, the only one among the candidates not currently committed to a club.

“The most fascinating one leads instead to Giovanni Sartori: creator of the miracles first Chievo, then Atalanta and Bologna. The current director of the Rossoblu would put everyone in agreement, even the vast majority of the Rossoneri people who watch, incredulous, the casting.
“We need to understand, quickly, if, despite the recent renewal with Bologna, Sartori can be freed to make the crowning achievement of a splendid career, but one that has never seen him at a top club like AC Milan.
“If not, divert to Tare and try to make a quick start again. The Rossoneri are the club that will have to work harder and better next season to try and get back on track. So head down and work, but competently…”
