Sandro Tonali has had a tumultuous time in the black and white Newcastle kit since signing from Milan for €70 million in 2023.
But the Italian midfielder reminded us all why Newcastle broke the break to bring him Tyneside with a stunning goal against Brentford in the League Cup Wednesday evening.
It was a good start from Newcastle, who have struggled in the Premier League as of late, and their hard work in the opening 10 minutes was rewarded.
After a clearance only made it a few yards outside of the Brentford box, Tonali was on hand to step up and fire a rasping shot into the back of the net to bring the St. James' faithful to their feet.
It went from good to great for Tonali as well, as he scored his second on the night in the dying minutes of the half from a corner.
The midfielder has been linked with a move to Juventus today from reports in Italy, but for now the Newcastle fans can just sit back and enjoy their burgeoning star.
