Fikayo Tomori is playing from start in AC Milan’s decisive clash against Dinamo Zagreb tonight. Speaking to the media just a few minutes ago, the Englishman shared his thoughts on the game and his makeshift position.

As Davide Calabria is serving a suspension, and Emerson Royal is injured, Sergio Conceicao has opted for Tomori to the right in the 4-2-3-1 formation. Or at least that is the formation on paper, with Milan likely to deploy more of a 3-4-3 during the game.

Speaking to MilanTV just a few minutes ago, as transcribed by MilanNews, the former Chelsea man discussed the game and his makeshift role at the back. He highlighted that he will give his all in the role, which is all that matters.

On the importance of the match…

“We know the importance of this match, we are keen on finishing in the top eight and tonight we have a great opportunity. It seemed difficult after the first two games, but we are here and we are ready.”

Today you will be deployed as a right-back…

“I’m always available to play wherever the coach wants me, we spoke yesterday about my role: what I have to do, where I have to be. I’m excited, as always I will do everything for the team.”

Milan need to come away with three points – more or less – to secure a top-eight finish in the competition. This would be a huge boost for the Rossoneri, clinching a direct spot in the knockout phase, and they are certainly the favourites tonight.
