Birmingham City minority owner Tom Brady took aim at Midlands rivals Aston Villa in the latest preview of the club's new documentary.

Birmingham City supporters are eagerly awaiting the release of the club's new Amazon Prime documentary, and the latest preview will no doubt only increase the anticipation ahead of the series dropping early next month.

After storming to the League One title last season with a total of 111 points, which set a new EFL record, Birmingham are currently preparing for life back in the Championship.

Ambitious Blues owner Tom Wagner has made it clear that the club are targeting back-to-back promotions next season, and they have already made plenty of high-profile moves in the transfer market, with six new signings arriving at St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park this summer, including forward Kyogo Furuhashi, who has made the move from Rennes in a deal worth up to £10 million.

Birmingham have attracted plenty of media attention in recent years, both due to their success on the pitch and their big spending in the transfer market, but their profile has also been raised by the involvement of NFL legend Tom Brady, who bought a 3.3% stake in the club in August 2023, as well as becoming the chairman of a new advisory board.

Wagner has previously claimed that Brady is "engaged with the club 365 days a year", and supporters will get more of an insight into the 47-year-old's role with when the documentary "Built In Birmingham: Brady & The Blues" is released on Amazon Prime on Friday 1st August.

In a video showing him travelling around the city, Brady asked: "They love their soccer team huh?

"What's the other team here?

"Is Aston Villa in the Premier League?"

"Are they pretty good?"

When he received confirmation that Villa are currently flying high in the top flight, Brady replied: "F*** them. F*** them up too."

It is fair to say that Brady has already become a hugely popular figure at St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park over the past two years, and after his comments about Aston Villa emerged, Birmingham supporters took to social media to share their reactions.

Many Blues fans simply revealed their admiration for Brady by posting a goat emoji, while others expressed their delight at the passion the seven-time Super Bowl winner has developed for the club.

Birmingham have not faced Villa for over six years, but the absence of the fixture has done little to lessen the animosity between the two clubs, and many Blues supporters revelled in Brady's dig at their bitter rivals.

With Villa featuring in the Champions League last season and regularly competing at the top end of the Premier League, Wagner has previously stated that he keen for Birmingham to face them in Europe one day, and after Brady's comments, it seems some supporters are already looking forward to the return of the derby between the pair.
