Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is hopeful that France manager Didier Deschamps will consider omitting Marcus Thuram from the upcoming international fixtures to allow the striker time to recover from a persistent ankle injury.
While he appeared to be back to his best against Feyenoord, delivering an inspired performance that secured Inter a spot in the Champions League quarter-finals, the French forward has been battling this issue for over a month.

Inzaghi recently acknowledged that the 27-year-old’s form has dipped due to the ankle problem, forcing him to rely on painkillers and injections to remain on the pitch and emphasising the need for a recovery period to restore his peak condition.
A report from L’Equipe reveals that Deschamps is considering leaving Thuram out of France’s squad for the upcoming Nations League quarter-final against Croatia.
The decision would be a major boost for the Nerazzurri, as their striker’s fitness is crucial heading into a decisive phase of the season, including a challenging Champions League quarter-final clash against Bayern Munich.
