EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea ‘seriously consider’ January approach for Premier League centre back!!

But after this game comes the Premier League again, with Chelsea facing another one of their potential banana skin games against Everton.

It’s always a tough place to go and get points at, and Chelsea are going to need to be very tight and aware at the back as well as hoping their attackers turn up and provide the creativity and finesse needed to find a breakthrough, as they did against Brentford last Sunday.

But the back line is what is still concerning many pundits and fans, especially the goalkeeper and centre backs.

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher believes they still need to improve this area by signing new players there.

Carragher says Sanchez needs replacing

In words quoted by Blue Footy this week, Carragher said:

“When I look at the things that worry me about Chelsea in terms of winning the league – a goalkeeper and maybe two centre-backs – Goodison Park is the type of place where something like that could show up.

“If they [Chelsea] can go to Goodison and keep a clean sheet and win, you think, oh, OK.

“That’s one of those results where it’s a team near the bottom but you know it’s a tough place to go.

“Chelsea have been so impressive this season.

I just can’t imagine the goalkeeper (Robert Sanchez) lifting [the Premier League trophy].”

I do actually agree that Chelsea still need a new goalkeeper and perhaps one new centre back.
