This Sunday in the Premier League Chelsea are in the big game of the weekend, taking on Liverpool at Anfield.

There’s a lot of excitement around the game, as you’d expect. Both teams are under new managers, doing perhaps better than anticipated.

But there’s also a question about the games each team have had – both have been accused of having something of a “false position” in the league thanks to some easier games to start the season. This is why it’s such a fascinating test.

On ESPN Craig Burley has picked out a potential weak point for Chelsea – Robert Sanchez in goal. He’s had a solid start to the season, but that’s in part down to the fact that he’s not been tested a huge amount. Burley isn’t the only one with questions – Paul Scholes picked out Sanchez as a weak point not long ago.

You can see Burley make his point in the clip embedded here:

Sanchez a worrying weak spot for Maresca’s Blues

“Robert Sanchez for me takes a lot of chances with the ball at his feet. He’s been caught out several times this season playing stupid hospital passes out from the back,” Burnley said.

“He has to be very careful that he picks his moment because Liverpool are a smart side. They’ve been pressing and pressing since [Jurgen] Klopp came in. It might be a little bit different now under Arne Slot, but they’re clever. They’ll watch it, and they’ll wait to pounce at the right time.”

We hope that the Spaniard has just been told to boot it long every time he’s under pressure. He can do the job when it comes to defending his goal (usually), it’s just a question of coping on possession, especially in front of a pumped up Anfield crowd.
