Benjamin Pavard managed to find the absolute perfect time to score his first goal for Inter Milan against his old side Bayern Munich.
As TuttoMercatoWeb highlight, the Frenchman received roundly positive scores in the player ratings for the match across Italian media.
Defender Benjamin Pavard played more than fifty matches for Inter Milan without a goal.
When the Frenchman arrived at Inter from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023, he was perhaps best associated with an iconic goal.
Pavard had scored for France in a World Cup round of sixteen thriller in 2018. The defender’s stunning volley was named as the goal of the tournament.
And at Bayern, Pavard had chipped in with a respectable twelve goals.

But for Inter, Benjamin Pavard had yet to find the scoring touch.
The 29-year-old has made plenty of attacking contributions. He has always had a lot of license to get forward from the right of Inter’s back three.
There have also been chances from set pieces for Pavard.
But the France international had yet to find the back of the net in a Nerazzurri shirt.
All that changed yesterday.
And Pavard’s goal could hardly have come at a more important time.
The former Bayern defender put Inter ahead on the night, and extended their lead in the tie to two goals.
Considering Bayern did go on to score again, that was absolutely vital for Inter to see out the tie.
The narrative significance of that goal coming against the team Pavard left to join Inter made it all the more special.
