The unnamed club who has also been in for Xavi Simons has been named now, but it should not concern Chelsea in my view.

Fabrizio Romano had the latest news on Chelsea’s attempts to sign Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig yesterday, and it’s still certainly looking very positive even if we do still need outgoing sales to make it happen.

And one of those outgoing sales is striker Nicolas Jackson, who Chelsea are trying to sell this window still. Jackson has a lot of interest and has been talking to a number of clubs, but the latest club to turn to him and show interest is Tottenham apparently.

So once Chelsea sell Jackson and probably Christopher Nkunku as well, then they should be able to move on for Simons and hopefully get that one completed. So there is some work to do.

But in the meantime, what if another club comes in for Simons? Even if we keep hearing he only wants Chelsea, should this concern Blues fans? Well, yes, it should. Because no deal is done until you see a player or a club announcing it officially….

Spurs made contact for Simons

As well as being interested in Jackson of Chelsea, Tottenham also apparently made contact for Simons recently.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Tottenham made contact for Xavi Simons a few days ago, but he has his heart set on Chelsea.

Not concerned

I’m not at all worried about Spurs interest personally, I don’t think there’s any chance he goes there. I’m concerned about other clubs like Manchester City, if they did come in, but Spurs give me no concerns to be honest.

Chelsea must feel confident he only wants them anyway if they are prepared to wait it out this long. So all must be fine there.
