Harry Pratt and Samuel Meade have reported for the Mirror that Joshua Kimmich is determined to join Manchester City this summer. They further report that the German international wants to be reunited with former manager Pep Guardiola. Furthermore, Pratt and Meade report that Kimmich only has 12 months remaining on his current deal with Bayern Munich. Joshua Kimmich is looming as Manchester City’s man to support Rodri.

Based on the new report from the Mirror it appears that Joshua Kimmich is looming as the player to come in and support Rodri. It is without a doubt the biggest priority for Manchester City this summer to find quality support for City’s midfield general. If Kimmich is the player City decides they want to support Rodri they would add a proven player to their squad.

Kimmich has had an impressive career with Bayern Munich and Germany. He has established himself as one of the best holding midfielders in world football during his time at Bayern Munich. Kimmich can also deputise at right-back which means his versatility would be another weapon for Pep Guardiola. Given that Kimmich rose to prominence under Guardiola at Bayern Munich he would also be familiar with the demands of the Manchester City manager. The reported fee of £30 million to sign Kimmich almost makes it a deal too good to pass up for the world champions.

Now it appears to be a matter of whether or not City decide to move for Kimmich. Based on Kimmich’s pedigree it appears to be a no brainer for the world champions.
