Welcome to the 2024/25 Newcastle United awards.
A voting panel of one.
These are my own personal award winners, so feel free to disagree in the comments below.
What a season it has been for Newcastle United and the fans.
So much has happened, so many memories.
Time though to look at the real stand out moments, stand out individuals, stand out everything.
My 2024/25 Newcastle United awards
Player of the season
Alexander Isak.
Sandro Tonali second, Bruno third (though numerous other contenders).
Goal of the season
Isak in the 3-3 draw against Liverpool.
This is so difficult because countless contenders.
As runner-up I would say Tonali against Brentford, he at least half meant it.
Dan Burn’s header at Wembley, how far out was he?!!!
Best assist
This is easy.
Jacob Murphy’s incredible footwork to create for Alexander Isak to score one of his goals at Ipswich, it was mesmerising as Murphy went past the defenders. Ironically, this was almost on the same level as that incredible run by Alexander Isak at Goodison Park in April 2023, when he ran down the left and into the box to set up…Jacob Murphy, for a tap in.
Best match atmosphere of the season
Wembley.
Next best was Arsenal in the semi-final second leg.
The Liverpool 3-3 was superb as well.
Also the first half of the 2-0 league win over Chelsea.
Most improved player
Lewis Hall has been outstanding.
Tino Livramento runner-up with his progress.
Whilst also Sandro Tonali, we already knew he was a class player BUT this season has blown our minds, in seeing just how good he is.
Best team performance of the season
Wembley. It wasn’t just that we won that day, Newcastle produced a superb performance and dominated throughout.
Joint second are the two semi-final matches against Arsenal.
Even though we didn’t win (and we deserved to), the 3-3 at home to Liverpool was such a high level.
I think the first 20 minutes at Old Trafford were just WOW! Never mind a poor team like Man U, we would have blown away any opposition playing like that.
Best cheering on of the team by a player from the sidelines
Will Osula.
I think one of the most impressive things about Newcastle United under Eddie Howe, is that unlike other clubs, we have no individuals who sulk. Quite the opposite.
I love how those players not in the team, so clearly still support those who are, 100 per cent.
Nobody though beats Will Osula for this! I just smile every time I see him.
Lifetime award
Eddie Howe is the best Newcastle United in my lifetime, no doubts now.
***I now look forward to you putting me right in the comments section below, telling me where I got it wrong.
