The last night will go on to live in the memories of FC Barcelona fans for quite some time as they saw their team win the Copa del Rey after an intense fight against Real Madrid in the final.

The Blaugranes had to give their all to get the win on Saturday, as the game went to extra time before Jules Kounde’s goal proved to be the decisive moment of the game.

The Frenchman contributed immensely to his team’s triumph, while his colleagues in defence also gave their all to ensure their team came out as the winner by the full-time whistle.

This is particularly true for Pau Cubarsi, who played all 120 minutes last night and led the defence for the Catalan team despite still being only 18 years of age.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the young defender also spoke to Barca One after the game. The defender admitted that the team was fatigued, but their jerseys allowed them to keep fighting till the very end:

“The legs feel heavy, yes, but the badge weighs more, and we had to fight until the end. And the reward came from fighting until the end.”

Pau Cubarsi also highlighted the good chemistry of the group and the efforts made by the team despite its youth to get the win:

“It’s something indescribable. It’s a young group, we gave it our all. It was tough. We played a great game.”

There is no doubt that this is a significant achievement for Barcelona. The Blaugranes will now be looking forward to win La Liga and the UEFA Champions League and complete the treble after having already done one-third of the work by winning the Copa del Rey.

Hopefully, Pau Cubarsi will continue to contribute as he has up to this point of the season to help his team achieve such a historic feat.
