The news comes after Chelsea beat Djurgarden 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night in the return leg of their Conference League cup semi-final match, winning the overall tie 5-1 – setting up a cup final against Real Betis at the end of this month.

Midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall grabbed the only goal of the game and afterwards he says that him and his team mates really deserve credit for getting to the final, despite the competition not being the strongest one around.

Although Maresca has also hinted that he could end up breaking some hearts with his cup final starting team selection as he goes all out to try and win the final at the end of this month.

The Blues have just three league games left of the season now, starting today away at Newcastle United. Then they face Manchester United, and Nottingham Forest on the last day of the season which could become the Champions League qualification decider.

The Daily Mail reports that some within Chelsea see the Newcastle game as their biggest match of the season. Whoever manages to win would take a gigantic step towards securing Champions League football.

Well, after Manchester City were held to a draw by Southampton in the league yesterday, this game has just become even bigger because it means if either side win, they then go ABOVE City in the league table. It’s all gotten very real!
