Rangers were the first club to get a lengthy glimpse of the talent at the playmaker's disposal after Eze endured several unsuccessful trials as a youngster, eventually becoming a fan's favourite at Loftus Road after making his senior debut in January 2017 at the age of 18.

In recent years, the England international has joined the conveyor belt of several Three Lions stars under Gareth Southgate and Thomas Tuchel, whose careers have massively benefitted through development in the EFL, with Palace proving to be the strong beneficiaries from a financial and success point of view, as Oliver Glasner's men won the FA Cup and Community Shield against Manchester City and Liverpool in the past three months.

And, with an impending move to the Emirates Stadium set to finally end a long-standing transfer saga which has stretched way beyond this summer window, Rangers and their new head coach, Julien Stephan, will be grateful for the insertion of one particular clause which was included in Eze's departure from W12 in the summer of 2020 as they look to progress forward under the Frenchman.

Those of a Hoops persuasion will have kept close tabs on their former star's exploits at Selhurst Park after the club inserted a clause in which they would receive a 15 percent sell-on clause related to the profit made on their initial £16m sale five years ago.

Just days ago, it looked as if the man who netted the decisive goal in May's FA Cup final against Man City would depart for Tottenham Hotspur, who are now under the management of Thomas Frank. However, it was revealed by Sky Sports on Thursday morning that Palace and Spurs' North London rivals, Arsenal, had agreed a transfer package of £67.5m.

This will see the Championship side, who have taken one point from their opening two encounters, bank a sum of approximately £6m, with Sky Sports revealing such developments on their Transfer Centre blog after news broke that Eze will not feature for Palace in this evening's UEFA Conference League play-off fixture against Fredrikstad on home turf.

After accumulating a tally of 20 goals and 12 assists for the Hoops, the 27-year-old has gone from strength-to-strength, scoring 40 times and racking up a further 28 assists in 169 appearances for the South London outfit.

Julien Stephan will hope to reinvest some of Eberechi Eze-related funds into new-look QPR squad

During the first transfer window of his tenure, Stephan has overseen plenty of smart signings, with the standout being the capture of Richard Kone from Wycombe Wanderers in a deal worth at least £2.75m.

At present, the R's have also been linked with the experienced duo of Isaac Hayden and Ben Davies, which would continue the aforementioned trend. However, with further funds now set to come into the club's coffers, this could significantly aid the club's progression in whichever avenue the hierarchy see fit, although no doubt supporters will hope to see a reasonable chunk reinvested into the playing squad.
