Our historic 2023/24 season came to a close on Saturday afternoon.

Securing a 3-1 victory over West Ham United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the final day, it brought an end to one of most memorable campaigns in England’s top-flight division so far.

After 22 hard-fought games in the Barclays Women’s Super League, we finished sixth in the table, just four points behind Manchester United, while we created history in the Women’s FA Cup by reaching the final for the first time.

So, as we say goodbye to 2023/24, we take a look at some numbers behind our campaign.

League numbers

31 – We accumulated 31 points in the 2023/24 WSL campaign, just one points less than our record points tally (32) from the 2021/22 season.

8 – In our 22 games in the league, we won eight games, only in 2022/23 did we pick up more victories (9) over the duration of the campaign.

7 – With eight wins and seven draws, we only lost seven games in the WSL, the lowest amount in a full league campaign.

10 – Throughout much of the campaign, we showed spirit and resilience to come from behind and that resulted in us winning 10 points from losing positions – only Arsenal (13) and Manchester United (10) achieved more.

3 – We picked up our first-ever three points against Arsenal, securing a 1-0 victory over the Gunners at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as Martha Thomas found the back of the net in the second half.

2 – We completed the double over two sides this season in the league – Bristol City and West Ham United.

36 – In his first season in England, Robert Vilahamn’s win-rate in the WSL is 36%, the best of any Spurs manager at this level.

Appearances

32 – Jess Naz made the most appearances in all competitions, featuring in 32 games, with Celin Bizet (29) the second highest at the Club.

26 – Eveliina Summanen made the most starts for the Club, starting in 26 games, with 20 of those in the WSL.

1,710 – Having made the most starts, Eveliina Summanen racked up the most minutes in the WSL with 1,710 – 72 minutes more than fellow midfielder Grace Clinton.

17 – Kit Graham was our most-used substitute this season with the midfielder having been brought on from the bench on 17 occasions.

17 – Celin Bizet, meanwhile, was the player substituted the most, being withdrawn 17 times.

Appearances milestones

150 – Ashleigh Neville (156), in her seventh season with Club, reached her 150th appearance in Lilywhite in our 1-0 win over Bristol City in March.

150 – Our captain, Bethany England, achieved 150 appearances in the WSL in our 1-0 win against Arsenal in December.

100 – Two players reached a century of appearances in Lilywhite this season, Rosella Ayane (105) and Jess Naz (104).

50 – Three players surpassed a half of century of appearances for the Club, Celin (54), Eveliina (61) and Amy James-Turner (54).

Goals

53 – We scored 53 goals throughout the 2023/24 campaign in all competitions.

31 – Out of the 53 goals scored, 31 of those were scored in the WSL.

132 – We racked up 132 shots on target in the league, the fourth highest out of all the teams – only Manchester City (183), Chelsea (179) and Arsenal (143) with more.

10 – Martha Thomas finished as our top goalscorer in her first season at the Club, netting 10 goals in 27 outings in all competitions – seven in the WSL.

70 – Bethany England became only the second player to have reached 70 goals in the WSL and, after four goals in the final five league games of the season, our captain is just six goals behind Vivianne Miedema in the all-time goalscorer charts.

8 – We scored eight goals outside the box this season – only Manchester City netted more from that distance (9).

3 – Martha scored three of the eight goals from outside the box – joint-highest in the WSL with Manchester City’s Khadija Shaw.

1 – Just one of our players grabbed the matchball this season in the WSL and that was Martha Thomas after her hat-trick in the 4-2 win over Aston Villa in October.

Assists

15 – We had 15 different players provide an assist this term.

5 – Grace Clinton recorded the highest number of assists (5) in all competitions for us – one more than any other player.

4 – In the WSL, Grace Clinton, Eveliina Summanen and Jess Naz all registered four assists throughout the campaign, ending as the joint-highest at the Club.

Passing/Dribbling statistics

1,120 – Eveliina Summanen completed 1,120 passes in the WSL – 100 more than anyone else at the Club.

89.5 – Of the players to have completed at least 250 successful passes in the league, Molly Bartrip enjoyed the highest pass accuracy with 89.5% per game.

58 – Grace Clinton topped the dribbles completed chart in the WSL with 58 - two more than Manchester United’s Geyse (56) – while Celin Bizet was sixth on the list with 36 successful dribbles.

162 – The England international also won 162 duels in the WSL this season – only Jill Scott has ever won more in a single campaign, doing so in both 2013 (174) and 2018-19 (166).
