Notts County have been establishing themselves strongly back at League Two level since their promotion to the fourth tier in 2023.

After narrowly missing out on promotion to League One via the play-offs as they lost 2-0 on aggregate to AFC Wimbledon in the play-off semi-finals last season, the Magpies will want to go one step further this season with them knocking on the door of promotion again.

Despite there being a buzz around Meadow Lane, summer 2026 will sure be a busy time for the club with there being eleven players coming to the end of their contracts.

Who will stay and who will go? We will have to wait to see.

Football League World takes a look at those players who are set to depart the club as free agents in 2026, using information as per Transfermarkt.

Alassana Jatta

One key name who will be out of contract come the end of the season will be Notts County's star striker, Alassana Jatta.

The Gambian international has been nothing short of spectacular since arriving from Danish side, Viborg in Februaru 2024 as he contributed to seven goals in 10 games post joining the club in 2023/24.

Jatta continued his outstanding form for the Magpies last year, as he ended the season with 19 goals and four assists during the regular season, proving to be one of League Two's most feared players for the opposition.

With his contract coming to an end in the summer 2026, Notts County will surely want to keep his proven goalscoring ability at the club, but it could prove difficult with interest from the higher leagues sure to be on the cards.

Matthew Platt

27-year-old defender Matthew Platt is another player whose days in a Notts County shirt appear to be numbered.

The reliable centre-back has been a key part of the Magpies' lineup since joining from Bradford City in the summer of 2024.

Platt made 50 appearances in all competitions for Notts County last season, where he scored four goals and established himself as a key player for the Magpies.

With his wealth of EFL experience, playing for Bradford and Barrow and Notts County, Platt's stability that he brings to their defence has proved to be vital in earning points to propel his side into the play-offs.

His departure could be costly should he leave on a free next summer.

Keanan Bennetts

German forward Keanan Bennetts signed for County on a one-year deal this summer from Austrian side Klagenfurt and has since featured in every fixture so far this season.

With the 26-year-old still yet to get off the mark in the Midlands after making five appearances, despite good performances up to now, only time will tell whether he will be a valuable asset at Meadow Lane.

Nicholas Tsaroulla

Versatile Cypriot wing-back Nicholas Tsaroulla has entered his second and perhaps final year at Notts County, since signing from Crawley Town as a free agent last summer.

He has made a fast start this campaign, having grabbed one goal and one assist in three league appearances, form that cannot go unnoticed and may prove to be a key part in the Notts County side that set their sights on the top seven come the end of the season.

After featuring 38 times in the league in the 2024/25 season, Tsaroulla merely got two goals and two assists to his name.

With the Cyprus international looking to be a player that Notts County could relieve off of their wage bill by letting him leave on a free next summer, the club may be having second thoughts if his good performances remain consistent.

Scott Robertson

Scott Robertson's Notts County days could well be coming to an end in the summer of 2026, with injury problems being a consistent issue in the players' career up to this point.

He's a well-travelled midfielder across the EFL, spending time with the likes of Fleetwood, Crewe, and Gillingham, just to name a few.

However, the Scotsman has made 25 league appearances over the past two seasons and is yet to feature this campaign, which could spell danger with his contract expiry being imminent.

Jack Hinchy

22-year-old midfielder Jack Hinchy joined the Magpies from Premier League side Brighton last summer after progressing through their academy system.

Having appeared 25 times in the League last year, you could see Hinchy's career blossoming.

However, fast-forward to this season and the youngster has yet to gain any minutes so far this season, merely being named on the bench once in their EFL Cup opener against Wigan.

The midfielder could well look ahead to new pastures for next season with his deal expiring next June.

Oliver Norburn

The well-renowned Oliver Norburn signed for the Magpies this summer on a one-year contract from League One side Blackpool.

The experienced 32-year-old looks to be a key part of Notts County's team looking to gain promotion after being brought in with the role of stabilising their midfield after the loss of their Spurs loanee George Abbott.

With only one year at the club, it is a risk-free transfer for the Magpies which could go down as shrewd business if they are to achieve their goals this season.

County do have the option to trigger a 12-month extension to Norburn's contract should they wish.

Kellan Gordon

Kellan Gordon arrived at Meadow Lane from Crawley in the summer of 2024 as a free agent, and has been a key feature in their side.

He made 30 league appearances last season and provided three assists in that time.

Gordon is well known for his versatility, being able to play in the wide area on the right-flank as well as through the middle.

His desire to get forward and contribute in an attacking sense has made him a valuable asset for Notts County as he enters his second season with the club, but those days may soon be over with his deal expiring next summer.

Rod McDonald

Bullish defender Rod McDonald has sought to impress in a Notts County shirt after joining from Harrogate Town in the summer of 2024.

His defensive know-how and composure in breaking up play has made him a fan-favourite, and a player that the Magpies fans can count on.

McDonald has played four full 90 minutes so far this campaign, and remains to be a solid option despite the date of his contract expiry being next June.

Curtis Edwards

31-year-old midfielder Curtis Edwards joined the club last summer from National League side Woking.

The low-risk transfer has never really won over the hearts of the County faithful, with playing time for Edwards coming at a premium.

Edwards has most commonly been used as a substitute and looks to be a common theme going into his final year under contract at the club.
