Zakaria Eddahchouri is on fire this season. The 24-year-old striker has scored an incredible 14 goals in just 19 Eesrste Divisie games this season, while also providing two assists. The former Go Ahead Eagles man has already matched his goal tally for last season in eight games fewer. Eddahchouri is out of contract in the summer, which should put a number of Eredivisie sides on high alert.
Starting out with Go Ahead Eagles, Eddahchouri never quite managed to break through. In 30 games for the side he managed to score just one goal. In the summer of 2022 he left the side to join third division Koninklijke HFC, where he scored 16 goals in 31 games. As a result, Telstar picked him up on a free transfer the following summer. It has certainly been a fantastic piece of business for the club. In 48 games across all competitions the striker has scored 28 goals.
However, Telstar now have a decision to make. Do they look to cash in on the player in January, given that he is likely to garner interest from clubs that can offer him far greater wages. Eredivisie clubs will certainly be aware of the strikers situation, and Telstar may be able to play on some sides desperation for a goal scorer. There are plenty of teams in the bottom half of the top flight who could benefit from signing Eddahchouri in January.
Yet Telstar would then lost a man who has scored just under half of their goals this season. The side have not been in the top flight of Dutch football since the late 1970s, and selling Eddahchouri would likely see that run extended. Yet, from a financial stand point, it would make the most sense.
