Southampton prodigy Dom Ballard had returned to League One in January on loan. Sadly, Ballard's struggle continues in his initialsteps in professional football.
Well, by now you would've surely heard it somewhere, "Timing is everything—one right move can change everything." And in sports, particularly Football, this realization is key to success.
But, you know an even more important lesson is what happens when a key timing passes away. After all, both Tyler Dibling and Amo-Ameyaw were talented, yet only Dibling broke through to the first team.
Concisely, this is what another Southampton prodigy, Tom Ballard needs to realize before it's too late.
You would remember that the 19-year-old forward had made a January switch to League One again. Notably, fresh from brilliant performances, everyone expected him to succeed this time, but things haven't improved for Ballard.
Since joining Cambridge United, Ballard has had rare game time in over a month. Leave playing a full 90 minutes even once, the teenage striker hasn't had game time in the last 2 fixtures at all.
Seems too troubling of a situation for the 19-year-old, right? But little can be blamed on Cambridge United directly.
This is because in his inaugural loan spell to Blackpool this season, Ballard was a straightaway flop. After all, his recorded numbers, a single-goal contribution in 22 appearances were far from accepted.
And it's result? Now, Dom is forced to start below in Cambridge boss Garry Monk's pecking order.
Sadly, since Ballard let a key opportunity slip earlier, luck isn’t favoring him now as well.
Noticed it? All along, an unutilized Blackpool spell is costing Ballard again and again. May the forward find a comeback path soon, before it's too late to spark in competitive English Football.
