After the Magpies' narrow 3-2 defeat against Arsenal at the Singapore National Stadium on Sunday, Tino Livramento, Lewis Miley and Emil Krafth have been handed starts ahead of the club's first ever game in the country which co-hosted the 2002 FIFA World Cup finals.

Livramento, a European Under-21 Championship winner with England this summer, is likely to replace Kieran Trippier at right-back while Emil Krafth could partner Jamaal Lascelles, who wears the captain's armband today, at the heart of the United defence in place of Dan Burn, who drops to the bench.

Irish defender Alex Murphy, capable of playing at left-back or centre-back, completes the backline while Nick Pope continues in-between the sticks.

Miley, who grabbed an assist in the five-goal encounter against Arsenal, will feature alongside Sandro Tonali and Joe Willock in the middle of the park while Anthony Elanga, who scored on his first United start against the Gunners, and Anthony Elanga will aim to provide attacking support for lone striker William Osula.

Lewis Hall has been named on the substitutes' bench as the 20-year-old left-back targets a first outing in a black and white shirt since sustaining a foot injury in February during a Premier League clash away at Liverpool.

Sven Botman, however, is not involved for today's match after the Dutch defender was withdrawn against Arsenal but Howe revealed in Tuesday's pre-match media briefing that the 25-year-old centre-back could still be in contention to face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday at Seoul World Cup Stadium (kick-off 12pm BST).

There are still a number of defensive options for Howe to choose from, including Fabian Schär, Trippier, Matt Targett and Harrison Ashby while Brazilian duo Bruno Guimarães and Joelinton as well as Harvey Barnes and Jacob Murphy, the latter on target against Arsenal, are likely to be deployed from the bench.

Seung-soo Park, who joined Newcastle from K League 2 side Suwon Bluewings last week, could be in line for his Magpies debut in his native country as the South Korea under-20 international is one of five teenagers named on the bench, including Academy quartet Sean Neave, Travis Hernes, Alfie Harrison and Anthony Munda.

There are four substitute goalkeepers which include John Ruddy, who featured in the latter stages of Sunday's friendly against Arsenal, along with Odysseas Vlachodimos, Mark Gillespie and Max Thompson.
