Tammy Abraham looked back on his time in the Italian capital and discussed Jose Mourinho’s role in his arrival in Italy.
During a recent interview with BBC Sport, the English striker – currently on loan at Milan – recounted his decision to join Roma from Chelsea in 2021.
“I was playing PlayStation with my friends and I got a call and I answered, ‘Hi Tammy, it’s Jose Mourinho. Do you want to stay in rainy England or come to sunny Rome?'”
“I remember running upstairs to tell my parents and we thought Rome was the place to go.”
“José was one of the best coaches I have ever had. He was great. He always believed in his ideas and as a player you feel his energy and share it.”
“Roma? I don’t regret a thing. I loved it. It was a fantastic experience,” he added.
