Daniel Munoz remains suspended and Adam Wharton is behind schedule with his injury recovery, so both will be among Crystal Palace’s absentees against Arsenal on Saturday.

Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Munoz was suspended for their League Cup quarter-final against Arsenal on Wednesday due to an accumulation of yellow cards, having picked up two in his previous three games in the competition.

Coincidentally, Munoz picked up his fifth Premier League yellow card last weekend, meaning he’s also suspended for the next league game – which is against Arsenal as well.

Nathaniel Clyne should take Munoz’s place, after playing 45 minutes of Wednesday’s game. Clyne initially took up a spot on the bench, but youth right-back Caleb Kporha picked up a first-half yellow and had to come off at half-time.

Clyne subsequently provided the assist for Eddie Nketiah’s goal, so Munoz’s absence clearly didn’t hit the team too hard.

Another player who was missing on Wednesday was Adam Wharton, and the midfielder isn’t expected back this weekend.

Last week, reports suggested Wharton could return in one of the two Arsenal games, but his manager then revealed he’ll need a few more weeks to make his comeback after a setback.

And it seems Eberechi Eze has also suffered a setback, with Palace boss Oliver Glasner confirming he’s out of the match.

On top of those three, Matheus Franca de Oliveira and Chadi Riad Dnanou are expected to miss Saturday’s game, with former Gunner Rob Holding also unavailable for undisclosed reasons.

Holding has been training individually since September and hasn’t made a senior squad for Palace since August.

For the most part, the squad should look very similar to Wednesday’s game, just perhaps with a few changes to the starting lineup.
