Newcastle are one of the clubs interested in signing Chelsea defender Axel Disasi this summer according to reports.

The Blues are set for another busy summer and have already completed the signing of striker Liam Delap from Ipswich for £30m, but are still looking for a centre back and right footed attacker.

Chelsea face a critical window and could look to fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players, with a number of squad members surplus to requirements.

Newcastle interested in Axel Disasi

There’s expected to be significant movement at centre back during the window with a number of players likely to depart.

Whilst the Blues are looking to bring in another defender the likes of Renato Veiga, Trevoh Chalobah and Disasi are all candidates to leave.

Disasi spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Aston Villa, but only made ten appearances for Unai Emery’s side.

It’s been reported Villa want to sign Disasi on a permanent basis, but he’s attracting interest from other clubs in the Premier League.

According to Foot Mercato Newcastle are interested in the France international, as well as Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli.

Disasi joined Chelsea from Monaco in the summer of 2023 for £38.5m, and has made 61 appearances in total, but he’s almost certainly played his last game for the club.

Chelsea have identified Ajax star Jorrel Hato as a defensive target as they look to add a left sided defender to the squad.

Hato is thought to be available for around €55m and the 19-year-old has made 111 appearances for Ajax despite his tender years.

The teenager would provide Chelsea with much needed cover for Marc Cucurella at left back, and he can also play at centre back, but the Blues will need to move fast with Liverpool also said to be interested.
