Reliable journalist David Ornstein has dropped what could be quite a significant Arsenal transfer update about a potential player sale this summer.
The Gunners already have big names like Thomas Partey and Jorginho heading towards being free agents at the end of the season, but there could be a significant sale as well.
Speaking during a Q&A session via the Athletic, Ornstein said that it seemed inevitable that Arsenal would need to raise some funds to help with other signings.
“I think if Arsenal are going to commit huge expense on a striker, and in Zubimendi gets done, it’s surely inevitable there needs to be resource raised from a sale or multiple,” Ornstein said.
“It wouldn’t shock me to see a notable player depart this summer but, at the time of writing, I don’t know who that might be.”

It’s not clear who that could be, but Arsenal fans will likely have some ideas in mind about players who don’t have much of a future at the Emirates Stadium.
Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jakub Kiwior are some names who might feel they could be playing more often than they have been, so AFC could do well to cash in on any interest in them.
Some fans might also feel that big names like Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard haven’t really been good enough lately, so they could also be worth considering offers for.
Still, it might be some time before we know what Mikel Arteta and co. will decide, with plenty of football left to play between now and the end of the season.
It could be an important period for some players to stake their claim for a place and perhaps change a few people’s minds about their future.
