VfB Stuttgart chairmen Alexander Wehrle has added his voice to the growing chorus of club professionals remaining adamant that Nick Woltemade will not move to Bayern Munich this summer. The rising Bundesliga star, Wehrle insisted, will represent Stuttgart next year.

Quoted by two local newspapers, Wehrle has echoed the sentiments of head coach Sebastian Hoeneß and board-member-for sport Fabian Wohlgemuth. Wehrle also noted that he had refused to meet with his Bayern counterparts.

We’re not letting him go,” Wehrle is quoted by both the Stuttgarter Nachrichten and Stuttgarter Zeitung as saying. “He will continue to play football for us next season. Period. If Bayern offer something truly extraordinary, then we can talk about it like professionals.

[Max Eberl and the Bayern administrative team] have lodged inquiries by phone,” Wehrle continued, “Ordinarily a personal meeting follows. I’ve categorically refused to do so thus far.”

It remains common knowledge that Stuttgart and Bayern are nowhere close to agreeing on a transfer fee for Woltemade.

Longtime Bayern chief personnel executive and current Honorary President Uli Hoeneß recently appeared to concede defeat in the matter, noting that the German giants would simply have to concentrate on acquiring Woltemade next summer.
