John Obi Mikel has insisted Chelsea still need to replace Robert Sanchez despite his performance in the Club World Cup final.
Sanchez made a number of top saves as Chelsea beat Paris Saint Germain 3-0 in New York on Sunday to be crowned world champions.
The Spaniard also picked up the Golden Glove award and deserves the praise coming his way, which hasn’t been a regular thing during his time at Chelsea.
However, there are still question marks surrounding Sanchez from supporters, and most would like to see another goalkeeper signed.
Despite his strengths, Sanchez is prone to making costly errors, and no keeper made more errors in the league leading to goals than the Spain international last season.

Chelsea had the chance to sign Mike Maignan from AC Milan earlier this summer, but refused to meet the valuation, and as things stand it appears Sanchez will start the season as number one.
Mikel has been very critical of Sanchez, and he once again doubled down on his view after the Club World Cup final.
Gareth Bale asked Mikel: “Who are they going to buy next?! They can’t sign a goalkeeper because he had a great game.”
Mikel hit back with: “No, no, no, we are still buying a goalkeeper,” he told DAZN.
“I’m still not convinced with Sanchez at all but let’s give him credit, he had a great game today, I’ll give him that.

“I still believe we need a top, top goalkeeper. Sanchez a had brilliant game but going into new season, with the Premier League and Champions League, you still need a top goalkeeper.
“This should give him good confidence ahead of the new season and hopefully we see a new Sanchez next season.”
With Sanchez looking likely to stay, Chelsea have now decided what they will do with talented youngster Mike Penders.
The Blues have agreed a deal for Penders to join Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg on loan for the next step in his development.
Chelsea are said to believe Penders is a fantastic talent, and it will be interesting how he does in his first season playing in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
