Robert Vilahamn was delighted to end our Barclays Women’s Super League campaign with three points after a 3-1 victory over West Ham United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.

Having took the lead inside the opening five minutes, Bethany England netting her fifth WSL goal in six games, we took control of the first half – having more than 65% possession – but failed to capitalise on numerous opportunities.

We were punished quickly after the restart as Riko Ueki grabbed an equaliser in the 50th minute and, while we struck the woodwork multiple times and forced Mackenzie Arnold into a number of saves, it felt it was going to one of those days of missed chances.

However, with just four minutes left in normal time, Jess Naz puts us ahead with a composed finish inside the box before Drew Spence wrapped up the victory in the ninth minute of stoppage time with a wonderful strike from distance.

Speaking to SPURSPLAY after our season finale in N17, Robert said: “We spoke before the game about finishing the season on a high, I knew the players were quite tired after the third game in six days while West Ham have trained for two weeks.

“The fans were amazing, we played some really good football and, in the end, we scored some beautiful goals as well and ending with Drew’s goal was amazing.”

When asked about the togetherness in the squad, he said: “Ramona [Petzelberger] was coming in, she hasn’t started since the north London derby here, and played amazing football, then you have the people on the bench coming in and giving the support, Molly [Bartrip] making that tackle, for example.

“It showed the strength that we have different type of players that we can use, it’s also nice to see them so happy afterwards with the fans as that’s the most important thing in my leadership to make sure we have a group that want to spend time together and work together… I want to win and have a great environment.”
