Spanish Football Federation unconcerned by prospect of breaking German law with Lamine Yamal | OneFootball

Spain kick off their Euro 2014 knockout campaign on Sunday when they take on Georgia in the round of 16. Ahead of the match, there has been plenty of talk surrounding Lamine Yamal, and the prospect of his involvement against the Georgians – curiously, in relation to the possible breaking of German law.

The law in question states that minors (anyone under the age of 18) cannot wait in Germany beyond 11pm. Lamine Yamal falls into this category, and if the match against Georgia were to need extra time, the law would be broken if he were to feature in that extra 30 minutes of play.

However, MD have spoken to sources at the Spanish Football Federation, and they are relaxed about the situation. Those involved have already received the “OK” from UEFA pre-tournament.

The likelihood is that Lamine Yamal will start against Georgia, and it would be a surprise if he were to play longer than 90 minutes, given that Spain manager Luis de la Fuente will be mindful of managing his involvement.
