Aaron Ramsdale, Adam Lallana and Ryan Fraser must be eyeing a good outing against former employers Bournemouth.
After a fortnight's gap, the Premier League is back and in some style as well. Rivalry week is going on currently, with the Merseyside derby headlining the top flight matchday.
For fans residing in south England, the Premier League also has something in store for them. That's because Southampton and Bournemouth will go head-to-head to claim the south coast bragging rights.
As enticing as this matchup is for the fans, a few Southampton players are also eager to stand out on this occasion. If this raised your eyebrows, the reason is that they have lined up on the other side of this rivalry as well.
Further, you may be surprised to know that there are three Saints' in this list. Notably, those are Aaron Ramsdale, Adam Lallana and Ryan Fraser respectively.
Coincidentally, all three of them completed a permanent switch to Southampton in the summer. Starting with Ramsdale, the keeper made his big Premier League breakthrough at Bournemouth.
Though a Sheffield United academy graduate, Ramsdale's three year spell with the Cherries was a valuable one. A couple of successful loan moves and some reliable performances led the Blades to re-sign him later.
Since then, the 26-year-old didn't look back and carved a name for himself in the Premier League.
Moving on to Lallana, his Bournemouth stay was nearly two decades ago. On top of that, many Southampton fans can be excused for not knowing this fact because Lallana only made a handful of appearances there.
In contrast to the above duo, Ryan Fraser is a much more familiar name among the Bournemouth faithful. Understandably, as the Scottish winger has racked over 200 appearances for the visitors before joining the Saints.
At the same time, the latter is the least likely among the trio to get involved in the coming fixture. Still, let's hope that everyone Juric entrusts to start gives their best efforts in the home derby.
