Now, according to information from Roberto Morales through COPE, Santiago Solari has been informed to be ready to step in as manager if Ancelotti is sacked.

Solari, whose last managerial job was at Club America in Mexico, has prior experience as an interim coach and could be called upon once again if the need arises.

Ancelotti is under pressure

The pressure on Ancelotti has been mounting following a string of unconvincing performances. The team’s recent 0-2 defeat to Liverpool has only added fuel to the fire, with many viewing it as a potential tipping point.

Despite winning La Liga and the UEFA Champions League just two seasons ago, Real Madrid’s current form has exposed weaknesses, including a lack of cohesion and intensity on the pitch.

However, if the club decides to part ways with Ancelotti before the season ends, it would not be feasible to approach Alonso mid-campaign. This has led to Real Madrid preparing an internal solution in the form of Solari.

Solari is the chosen one

Solari’s familiarity with the club and his prior stint as an interim manager make him a logical choice for a mid-season appointment.

Since returning to Real Madrid in 2022 as the football director, he has maintained a close relationship with the club’s hierarchy, which could work in his favour if a managerial change is deemed necessary.
