After returning from a loan spell in Serbia, Silas Katompa is not expected to remain at VfB Stuttgart. All signs point toward a move to Turkey.
The Congolese right winger is close to signing with Samsunspor. According to Turkish media, the 26-year-old attended the opening match of the Turkish league against Gençlerbirliği (2-1) last Saturday.
This news was confirmed by the club president, Yüksel Yıldırım: "He came to watch the match with his friend Anthony Musaba. The latter advised him to join us," he stated.
He also confirmed the club's interest in the player: "Silas is a player we are targeting. We need him. His experience will strengthen us."
All indications are that a transfer is imminent. Stuttgart is expected to receive 8 million euros as a transfer fee for the Congolese international (20 caps, 1 goal), who has just one year left on his contract.
The Kinshasa native played 24 matches (7 goals, 1 assist) with Red Star Belgrade during his loan spell in the 2024-2025 season.
