La Liga outfit Sevilla have come to the decision to cut short the loan of Valentín Barco with the club next month.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has on Saturday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Nervión.
Defender Barco for his part made the move to Sevilla over the summer, in a season-long loan switch from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
Safe to say, however, that the 20-year-old’s ensuing stint in Spain has not gone exactly according to plan.
All told, Barco has been afforded just three La Liga starts, the most recent of which came all the way back in late-September.
Amid such struggles, claims had begun to spread in the media of late that the Argentine could be sent back to England in January, ahead of seeking out a more suitable landing spot for the 2nd half of the campaign.
And, if the latest word to have surfaced on Saturday is anything to go by, then this does indeed look set to be the case.
As per a report from Fabrizio Romano:
‘Valentín Barco’s loan to Sevilla will be broken in January, as expected. Back to Brighton… and then, new loan.’
