According to La Repubblica, Alessandro Del Piero has received ‘several calls’ even from Serie A clubs who sounded out his availability to run for the FIGC Presidency.
Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero may run for the FIGC Presidency next year, and according to La Repubblica, the former striker has received calls from Serie A clubs in recent days.
Current FIGC President Gabriele Gravina will run for re-election in 2025, but Del Piero hasn’t yet confirmed – or denied – whether he will be one of the candidates.

La Repubblica, however, reports that Del Piero ‘hasn’t said no’ and may soon talk about the matter on Italian TV.
The former Juventus striker is, in fact, part of the Sky Sport Italia pundit team that will comment on Champions League matches this week.
Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi has reiterated that Serie A clubs need to agree on one candidate. According to Repubblica, Del Piero could potentially unite the top sides, as well as other groups and delegates who will vote in February 2025.
The FIGC assembly consists of clubs from Serie A, Serie B, Lega Pro, and Lega Nazionale Dilettanti, plus 52 athletes, 26 coaches, and nine referee representatives.
There are 276 delegates, and the new President is elected if he receives 50 per cent plus one vote.
