One such memorable game was back in September 1992 when we visited Brockville on league duty.

The old ground was packed to the rafters, the majority of them Celtic supporters who traveled in their droves and they would leave with a memory that would last a lifetime as they witnessed a truly outstanding game of football.

The first half flew by as the sides went in level at 1-1 with the two goals coming from the penalty spot just two minutes apart. Our effort being scored by Dariusz Wdowczyk. Although we were down to ten men after the dismissal of Tony Mowbray for a deliberate handball which led to the Bairns spot kick.

That didn’t deter us and we took the lead shorty after the restart thanks to Gerry Creaney as things suddenly started to look good, but the footballing gods had other ideas.

A thirteen minute spell saw Falkirk score three times to race into a 4-2 lead and suddenly it looked bleak especially with us being a man down, and Falkirk sensing this went for the kill in the hope of more goals against our stunned and fragile defence.

Andy Payton however gave us hope as he pulled one back with twenty minutes to go and suddenly the outcome of the game was in the balance as the Bairns looked a little rattled.

Gerry Creaney sent the Celtic supporters into a frenzy when he equalised in the 77th minute as the game was levelled once again, when all looked lost. It was truly remarkable turnaround.

A point would have been a great result considering we were two goals down and playing with ten men, but this is Celtic we are talking about. The club that never gives up until the final whistle, even in some uncertain times.

Then with time ticking away John Collins scored a goal that only he could and it sent the Celtic supporters in the small ground into euphoria. There was 89 minutes on the clock and no hopes of a comeback for the Bairns.

Celtic had just won a classic game of football. 4-2 down with ten men, to 5-4 winners. A very memorable game during a tough era. A game that will always be remembered by those who were there, £6 well sent, watch the highlights below..
