Youssoufa Moukoko is on the verge of leaving Borussia Dortmund for Copenhagen. Once heralded as one of Germany’s greatest prospects, the 20-year-old is set to leave the Westfalenstadion on a permanent basis for a reported €5m.
Speaking after Borussia Dortmund’s 1-0 win against Ulsan HD at the FIFA Club World Cup, sporting director Sebastian Kehl provided an update on the transfer.
“I’m in talks with Youssoufa, that’s true,” said Kehl. “There are still a few things needing to be clarified. Once they’re resolved, we’ll announce something but we’re not there yet.”
Moukoko (20) spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 side OGC Nice but struggled with just two goals and two assists across 11 league games, totalling 199 minutes. With just one year remaining on his contract at Dortmund, the Germany international has failed to live up to expectations and with a failed loan spell in France, has seen his market value half from €20m to €10m, per Transfermarkt.
