Sarina Wiegman danced with musician Burna Boy during England’s Euro 2025 trophy parade celebrations in London
England manager Sarina Wiegman danced on stage with musician Burna Boy as the Lionesses celebrated their Euro 2025 triumph in London.
A trophy parade was held in the capital on Tuesday afternoon, after England successfully defended their Women’s Euros trophy in Basel on Sunday.
The players have continued their celebrations over the last two days, arriving back to the UK at Southend Airport on Monday.
On Monday, the team visited 10 Downing Street before partying through the night in Soho until the early hours of the morning.
The Lionesses were greeted by thousands of fans in London, as an open-top bus parade down The Mall was followed by a stage ceremony outside Buckingham Palace.
Sarina Wiegman was surprised by her favourite musician, Burna Boy, during the ceremony to celebrate England’s Euro 2025 triumph.
The Dutch manager has previously revealed that the Nigerian singer is her favourite musician.
She looked stunned as presenter Alex Scott introduced the musician on stage during the ceremony outside Buckingham Palace.
Wiegman ran over to Burna Boy and gave him a hug before they danced on stage together as he performed his single ‘For My Hand’.
The England manager first revealed in 2023 that she was a fan of Burna Boy.
Later in the same year during a press conference, she revealed that her most-listened to song of the year was a song that Burna Boy performed with Ed Sheeran.
A number of England players also spoke on stage during the ceremony where Sarina Wiegman danced with Burna Boy.
England captain Leah Williamson revealed she was holding back tears on stage, and that she had been crying all the way down The Mall during their open-top bus procession.
Other players to speak on stage included Chloe Kelly, Hannah Hampton, Lucy Bronze, and Michelle Agyemang.
Presenter Alex Scott had to apologise to those watching in attendance and at home after Kelly swore on stage during her speech.
Kelly said: “It’s so good to stand side-by-side with every single one of these girls throughout the whole tournament, and the staff you don’t see behind the scenes. It’s incredible.
“Thank you to everyone that got out to support us, whether that’s in Switzerland or here today. It’s so f***ing good.”
The England players also danced on stage to other songs which were played, before Williamson lifted the trophy in front of the thousands of fans in attendance.
One player who was absent from the celebrations was Jess Carter who has travelled back to the United States ahead of Gotham FC’s next match.
