Mohamed Salah has said his mind is focused only on winning the Premier League title with Liverpool this season.

Salah starred as Liverpool won 5-0 at West Ham to reaffirm their position at the top of the table. The Egyptian international scored his 17th goal of the campaign and set up two others as the Reds ran riot at the London Stadium.

Salah has been in sensational form this season, with no player in Premier League history having ever been involved in more goals at this stage of a campaign. He leads the race for the Golden Boot and Playmaker Award, having scored 17 times and provided 13 assists.

Despite his ongoing brilliance, Salah’s future remains up in the air. His contract expires at the end of the current campaign and there has been no agreement reached on an extension. On January 1st, he will be free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign sides over a free transfer move.

Salah was asked asked about his future at full-time but told Sky Sports his focus was only on success this season. When pushed on contract talks, he said an agreement is still ‘far away’.

“The only thing on my mind is I want Liverpool to win the league and I want to be part of that,” the 32-year-old said.

“I will do my best for the team to win the trophy. There is a few other teams catching up with us and we need to stay focused and humble and go again.

“I am just trying to enjoy the game. At the end of the day I came here for the result and I wanted to do something in the game, but I am almost hungry for more.”

On his contract talks, he added: “No we are far away from that and I don’t want to put anything in the media.”
