Saïmon Bouabré (19) wishes to leave AS Monaco this summer, according to L’Équipe. It has led to the Principality club opting to deprive the attacking midfielder of the upcoming Euro U21 campaign.

Amid a swathe of absences, including Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche, retained by his club, Bouabré was called up to take part in the Euro U21 campaign, which begins on 11th June. The Monaco academy product played four games for the professional team last season, however, L’Équipe understands that he does not wish to extend his current deal, which expires next summer. As a result, he is looking to leave the club. Monaco, however, are not open to a departure.

Amid this conflict, Monaco have made the decision retain the player, as they have with Akliouche, preventing him from participating in the upcoming tournament. The Principality club, contacted by L’Équipe, stated that they are counting on the player, whilst also highlighting that two of their other players, Christian Mawissa and Soungoutou Magassa, have been allowed to join up with Les Bleuets.
