In the 19th minute, the Rossoneri took the lead through Morata, who capitalised on an assist from Emerson Royal to score with a precise right-footed shot. Empoli tried to respond, but AC Milan's defence proved solid, with Thiaw and Gabbia closing down spaces effectively.
