Andrée Jeglertz’s first summer signing sits down with Sam Cox and FG in the newest instalment of the podcast which will be published at 18:00 (UK) on CITY+ today to discuss her career so far and life at the Club.

Rose joined City after a hugely successful collegiate career at Harvard University while also impressing on the international stage with Canada

Those performances have come from central defence and at right-back, but she harboured ambitions of playing further forward during the beginning of her career.

“Once upon a time I was an attacking midfielder and then I got invited my first ever national team camp at U15s,” she said.

“We had left the airport and we’re now in the car on the way to the hotel and the coach at the time said ‘oh by the way, you’re not going to be playing in the midfield you’ll be playing centre-back’.

“Honestly, my heart dropped. I was already nervous going into it and then that kind of multiplied 10 times and I wasn’t really ready for that to be at my first national camp and then having to learn a new position in seven days.

“That was definitely a lot, but I wouldn’t say I chose the position, but the position chose me and I’m honestly happy with how it worked out.”

Rose’s transfer to City represented her first move outside of North America after playing for Harvard Crimson between 2021 and 2024 in the collegiate system.

A move of such magnitude could prove a daunting task, but the 22-year-old explained how the advice of Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has helped her settle into her new surroundings.

She added: “Bunny definitely took me under her wing and showed me around the facility. I would say it’s an easier facility to navigate as it’s a circle, but I somehow still ended up getting lost.

“I definitely had to leave five minutes early to get to meetings just to make sure I was there on time! But Bunny took me under wing, showed me around, helped me get to training on time.

“She showed me the ins and outs of a day in training and what that looked like. She’s definitely made an effort to check in on me and to make sure every so often I’m doing alright and if I need anything to make sure things are going smoothly.

“The other day we went out to get some Jamaican food together which is nice to be with people and outside of football.”
